About the Mixtape:

• Not So Merry and Bright: A Christmas Mixtape features 12 richly entertaining and moving stories on solitude, financial pressure, erasure, absence, loss of loved ones, and more.

Ultimately we landed on a clear theme, Not So Merry and Bright, and all the ways we can fall into that attitude.

This project makes space for sadness, anxiety, anger and all the feels this time of year can invoke. This mixtape hopefully makes you feel a little less alone for not having the perfect history of holidays. And for those of you who have been touched by the magic of Christmas over the years, and who burst into happy tears in their car when the first holiday song hits the radio -- we hope that you take a little extra stock and a whole extra handful of gratitude for what you have and what you can share. Most importantly, we hope you don’t forget yourself while putting everyone else first this holiday season, because each of you shine so freaking bright.
